In this episode, you'll learn:

  • Why you’ll never feel “ready” (and why that matters)
  • How to stop waiting for certainty and start choosing.
  • How clarity shifts you from reacting to leading.

Five Small Shifts To Try This Week:

These aren’t complicated strategies or more things to add to your plate. These are small, intentional shifts that change how you show up in the moment—so you can stop reacting and start leading with clarity.

Slow your response by 5 seconds

Pause before stepping in so your child can try, struggle, and build real confidence.

Lower your language

Use fewer, clearer words so your child can actually process what you’re saying.

Create one “yes” space

Give your child a space where everything is allowed to support independence.

Protect 10 minutes of undivided attention

Be fully present—no phone, no multitasking—to fill their connection tank.

Narrate effort, not outcome

Focus on what they’re doing (“you kept trying”) instead of praise like “good job.”

5 Takeaways From This Episode:

1️⃣ Feeling Ready is a Myth

You don’t wait to feel ready in motherhood—you decide, and clarity follows.

2️⃣ Calm Comes After Commitment

Confidence isn’t the starting point; it’s built after you choose your path.

3️⃣ Clarity Reduces Overwhelm

When you understand what’s happening beneath your child’s behavior, anxiety decreases.

4️⃣ Shift From Reacting to Leading

Parenting isn’t about control. It’s about becoming the steady, regulated presence your child needs.

5️⃣  Small Shifts Create Big Change

Simple mindset and behavior changes can transform your daily experience as a mom.

Wow, this is amazing! I loved hearing this — it’s so true. Creativity really does get snuffed out as we grow older unless we actively work to preserve, protect, nourish, and let it flourish.
